Home Assistant

Your smart home hub in a data centre. Control and automations work from anywhere, and a power or internet outage at home won't take down the interface or your history.

How to connect it

Sensors and Zigbee devices stay at home. Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi in the data centre reaches your home network through a WireGuard VPN or over MQTT. It pays off most for cloud integrations, notifications and data logging that shouldn't depend on your home connection.

docker run -d --name homeassistant --restart=unless-stopped \
  -v /opt/homeassistant:/config --network=host \
  ghcr.io/home-assistant/home-assistant:stable

On Raspberry Pi OS or Ubuntu you run Home Assistant in a container. If you send your own Raspberry Pi, you can put Home Assistant OS straight on the card.
